2 Cm Marble Versus 3 Cm Marble

That is why the 2 cm needs plywood to support it and the 3 cm does not.

In areas with a high risk of impact sinks for example a 2 mm radius edging is recommended as this is the best option for the look and durability. 1 cm thin stone takes the stress out of the job at a fraction of the weight plus the slabs can be handled flat with the backing facing down. 2cm material is slightly less expensive than 3cm material and is readily available in many colors and in multiple materials granite marble onyx travertine etc. Neolith recommends a radius of at least 2 mm. However we never install a 2cm slab on your kitchen without a plywood substrate. Volar design never had a warranty case since 1987 and we like to keep it this way.

That is just what one or two people mentioned when i was researching granite. For decades 2cm material was the trend in natural stone and to this day is still commonly used in the western states.
