3 feet and rising vinyl. 3 feet high and rising is the happiest and weirdest hip hop has ever been without making sacrifices. The album title comes from the johnny cash song five feet high and rising. Time to sell off my og copy in favour of my newer copy. Weaving clever wordplay and deft rhymes across two dozen tracks loosely.
Compared to the single vinyl release from 1989 it is so much better. It is recorded at a much higher volume and does not have any crappy distortion noise when you turn the volume up on it. Featuring production by prince paul utilizing around 60 samples from every nook that had a cranny and then one from its granny the sheer number of samples means another album like this will never happen again but we can dream.
